ZTE Reveals FTTH Vision for Digital India at FTTH India Summit 2019
ZTE Corporationz international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, has today participated in the third edition of FTTH India Summit 2019 at Hotel Leela in Mumbai.
Mr Michael Song, Vice President of Fixed and Multimedia Product Line at ZTE participates in the panel discussion on 'Fiber-based Technologies as a Key Enabler for Digital India'. He speaks at length about the latest trends in the FTTH technology and how the technology can be used to turn the vision of Digital India initiative into reality. ZTE India is the platinum sponsor of this premier event. FTTH India Summit 2019 witnesses enthusiastic discussions around the growing relevance of FTTH in the future networks.
"We are committed to supporting the Indian service providers in cost-effectively preparing the networks for the 5G era. ZTE is leading in the Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) CPE market. Our world-class products and proven expertise means that we are perfectly placed in helping the Indian telcos use FTTH technology in the backhaul to meet the demands of 5G network," said Mr Song. He comes with 18 years of rich experience in research and development and management of the fixed networks.
With the experience of collaborating with several tier-1 service providers and field-proven solutions, ZTE is ideally positioned to enable Indian telcos to use FTTH technology in the backhaul network to transport traffic from 5G cells. ZTE released the industry’s first Combo PON solution which innovatively brings down the challenges faced by the service providers in upgrading from traditional GPON to 10G PON. It allows telcos to cost-effectively while deploying the solution in both greenfield and brownfield deployments. ZTE’s flagship TITAN is a full-scenario optical access platform oriented to 50G PON and network re-architecture. It comes with the largest capacity of 28.8T and is the first in the industry to support 16-port 10G/ComboPON and 400Gslot bandwidth. Furthermore, it also provides up to 36 service slots. It helps the service providers in simplifying the networks and in bringing down the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Fiber deployments are increasing across the world as they are crucial to the future of mobile networks. With the speedup of the 5G process, the operators need to consider and plan network convergence. To address the new requirements and challenges in 5G fronthaul deployment, the operators can use high-bandwidth and wide-coverage FTTx network resources to implement integrated construction of home broadband, enterprise broadband and 5G mobile broadband over one network or even one fiber, so that the network construction costs can be reduced.
ZTE is a provider of advanced telecommunications systems, mobile devices and enterprise technology solutions to consumers, carriers, companies and public sector customers. As part of ZTE’s strategy, the company is committed to providing customers with integrated end-to-end innovations to deliver excellence and value as the telecommunications and information technology sectors converge.
ZTE has so far obtained 25 commercial 5G contracts in major 5G markets such as Europe, Asia Pacific and MEA (Middle East and Africa). ZTE commits 10 per cent of its annual revenue to research and development and has leadership roles in international standard-setting organizations.
