ZTE is committed to the Indian market!
Yuan Kang,
Director Terminal Sales Department,
ZTE India.
We see ZTE majorly present through bundled offers with Service Providers. What is the reason?
ZTE is a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions provider and has successfully deployed plenty of networks overseas and in India. It is now recognized by top operators like Airtel, Telefonica, Telenor, Teliasonera, Etisalat, Telstra, etc. that ZTE is focussed on the B2B and B2C platforms for service provider-related businesses. Its approach as an equipment vendor will continue to tap into the growing need for B2B and B2C collaboration. ZTE would stay aligned with this objective and would bring their experts to enhance the local market.
In the standalone or retail market, which verticals ZTE is targeting?
ZTE's focus is on the B2B markets as an equipment vendor and will continue to tap into the growing need for this collaboration of tools and technologies. We are looking to work with well-positioned distributors in order to accelerate innovation and will continue to deliver our best-in-class service and products. We believe that these business tools will strengthen our image as telecommunications equipment vendor and network solution provider and will help expand the business.
Can you give us the number of models available in the Indian market?
ZTE offers a complete bouquet of products which includes more than 50 different terminals in the Indian market that includes handset, data card, FWP, etc. The ZTE range of services and products are well equipped and are based on high-end technology. The ZTE handset series includes 3G, CDMA, 4G-enabled handsets. ZTE offers entry-level as well as high-end technology-enabled handsets. ZTE is best known for its cost-effective handsets with best technology.
You are globally announcing 3G LTE handsets. Would they be available in the Indian market too? Why or why not?
When it comes to 3G LTE technology, globally ZTE has taken a clear lead in successfully developing a wide variety of 3G-enabled devices, ranging from USB dongles to smartphones and tablets and have recently launched a single-chip LTE smartphone. These handsets based on TD-LTE technology are not compatible with the spectrum available in India. However, the Indian handset market is quite dynamic and the consumer base is evolving. So, we are looking forward to establishing ourselves in the Indian market and are willing to develop LTE handsets for the Indian market, depending on the market demand.
What kind of go-to-market strategy you have for the Indian market? Also, please share the service support network of ZTE in India?
At present, our focus is on the Indian telecom operators and we are glad that ZTE occupies more than 30% market share of the operator market in India. ZTE has a deep-rooted understanding of the needs of the telecom sector and are focussed on providing suitable products to the Indian market with easy-to-use, quality and affordable products.
ZTE India has already more than 360 service centres across India with our Local National Service Partners and in addition to that ZTE has two High Level Repair centres in India in Manesar and Chennai.
Do you see the competition in the Indian market to be healthy? Share your views.
Price is one of the key factors in a growing market like India. However, ZTE continues to focus on providing cost-efficient products and services and will continue to deliver with this excellence. We are confident about our bright future in India.
