Xiaomi rolls out its new OS - HyperOS
Xiaomi has announced HyperOS which will replace its over-a-decade-old MIUI. According to the company, the “human-centric” OS will power its ecosystem of personal devices – smartphones, cars, and home products. Over the course of 13 years, Xiaomi has grown significantly, attracting 1.175 billion users across the world. Xiaomi began the development of a new operating system in 2017, with the goal of unifying all ecosystem devices into a single integrated system.
The new OS will debut globally with the Xiaomi 14 series smartphones. Alvin Tse, Vice President of Xiaomi Global has posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Xiaomi’s MIUI OS will gradually be replaced by the new HyperOS on all devices.
Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said that the new operating system is based on the integration of Android OS and the company's own software advancements. “It will prepare a public base for the Internet of Everything for billions of devices and billions of connections in the future”, Jun added.
