As Indians, we must feel proud of the initiative taken by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi on “Make in India”. During his recent visit to the USA, Shri Narendra Modi exhorted and invited NRIs to promote their country and invest in it by engaging in manufacturing activities.
The Indian Government is committed to reviving the Indian economy. Various initiatives like smart cities and digitization have opened newer gateways for the corporate world to think and plan strategically. Information Technology plays a vital role in promoting business and 73% of the organizations worldwide plan to invest in Big Data in the next two years. According to NASSCOM, by the financial year 2015, IT and BPO revenues are expected to reach US$22 billion and, by 2020, it’s going to touch US$100 billion. In addition, initiatives have been taken for a strong focus on harmonious centre-state relations for ease of doing business. We expect this will give a major boost to existing SMEs which can provide components and sub-system to the large manufacturers who, in turn, would create a much-needed electronic manufacturing ecosystem. It is a fact that technology is advancing rapidly and social media has become a common medium of communication which is being used by brands. It is the best platform for getting immediate feedback. The “Make in India” campaign launched by the Government will have a bigger impact as it reflects a new mindset of the Indian Government. The basic objective is to make India a manufacturing hub with a sustainable long-term growth of 10 per cent with job creation as a priority and very soon there will a "Make in India" portal and it is expected to make an even bigger impact (than the Incredible India campaign) because it cuts across sectors and has political and administrative will at the highest level. This will offer a platform to address queries from potential investors by a panel of top officials, including those that are more complex in nature. India has steadily emerged as one of the most preferred destinations for global business. It is time to get ready for newer technology like Machine to Machine (M2M) that will enable both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same type. M2M is considered an integral part of the Internet of Things (IoT) and brings several benefits to the industry and business mostly for monitoring but also for control purposes with Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPV6) to accommodate the extremely large address space required as a global standard. Lastly, with the help of digitization and Swachh Bharat project, a definite change and a conducive environment are expected for ease of doing business in India, which will benefit the masses and we will find more and more global corporations to coming to India for setting up their manufacturing bases in India in the coming days.
