VMware appoints Vikram Anand as Director for Telecommunications India

VMware has announced the appointment of Vikram Anand as the director for its telecommunications business in India. In his new role, Anand will be leading and managing sales, operations and digital transformation programs for Telecom Service Providers.

Speaking on Anand’s appointment, Jagjit Arora, Senior Director, Sales, VMware India, says, “The telecom industry is a fast-growing sector in India. It is also a sector that is making huge strides towards digitally transforming itself, and is an important industry for us. I am happy to welcome Vikram in his new role. His extensive experience and expertise of working with some of the largest telecom service providers will add value to our team. Besides being a veteran in telecom sector, he brings with him a versatile skill set in developing new business models, negotiation, contracts, and go-to-market strategy.”

Based in Mumbai, Anand has extensive experience in the information technology and services industry. Over his 22-year career, he has specialized in automation, cloud, SDN, NFV, IoT, IP MPLS, unified communications and optical transport network (OTN). Anand joins VMware from Cisco, where he was responsible for various leadership and sales management roles covering telecom service providers. In the past, he has worked with Ericsson, Alcatel and Siemens, the pioneers of the telco network revolution where he developed an acute understanding of this domain.
