Virtusa introduces “WoV” Initiative at Bangalore ATC
To enable its women team members to realize their full potential, take leadership roles and have successful careers, Virtusa Corporation has launched the Women of Virtusa (WoV) initiative for global women team members at its Bangalore ATC (Advance Technology Centre).
The initiative enables its members through knowledge sharing forums on topics ranging from healthcare, career progression, and empowerment to education and training which will help create successful women leaders.
Darshana Pai, VP & Head, Virtusa’s Hyderabad Delivery Centre, said, Gender diversity today is no longer a just a corporate responsibility charter but a sound business practice. This is especially true for the IT services industry where talent availability is a key factor for growth, with the industry continuously looking at ways to increase the talent pool. The vision of WoV is to provide a platform for enabling women employees to make a successful, enriching and long- lasting career at Virtusa.
I am honoured and privileged to have been asked to be the Chief Guest at this ceremony. I am glad that Virtusa is addressing the persistent lack of diversity in our corporate boardrooms through this initiative. This needs a continuous focus. Let us work together to achieve a change. I would like to see more companies come up with creative and credible initiatives to get women into top jobs, said Jessie Paul, MD, Paul Writer.
This WoV initiative has been spearheaded by Darshana Pai and it focussed on supporting women employees in addressing workplace and personal concerns and helps them deal with work-life balance issues.
