Virtusa conducts Data Analytics hackathon, The Business Cipher on Data Analytics
Virtusa has conducted its annual business analytics hackathon called “The Business Cipher” on Data Analytics. Around 400 students from 25 prestigious business schools have participated in this one-of-its-kind competition.
At the first stage, contestants have completed an online course on Python which forms the base for students aspiring to become data scientists. 26 finalists from 10 B-schools across the country have taken part in the grand finale held on 20th & 21st. They are given a practical business case using a set of data to come up with conclusion based on their ability to solve the problem with best accuracy, presentation skills, code quality and team work. The winning team comprises of participants from IIM Bangalore, IIM Trichy, Great Lakes Institute, Chennai and TA Pai Management Institute, Manipal.

This is a great platform for students to showcase their analytical and problem-solving skills in a team environment. This also helps Virtusa identify and hire some of the best talent in the industry.”
At the Grand Finale, the contestants have to work on a real-time Blockchain case using data sets to come up with a practical solution. Along with the prize money (Rs.50,000), the winners are also rewarded with pre-placement offers by Virtusa.
