Uninor invites entries for Telenor Youth Summit 2013

To address the mobile phone technology issue of India, Uninor has announced call for entries from the country‘s youth on the theme My mobile idea that can bring about positive social change. Two participants with the best ideas will represent India at the first Telenor Youth Summit that takes place in December at Oslo, Norway.
The Telenor Youth Summit is a new global initiative that will be hosted by the Group’s President and CEO, Jon Fredrik Baksaas. The focus of the summit will be to develop and define ideas to solve social challenges with the use of mobile communication technology. Telenor Group is inviting two young participants between the age of 18 and 25 from each of its markets to represent their country at this Summit.
We believe in the power of mobile internet for all. We also believe that the mobile phone is a transformative device that has the power to change lives. If you have a unique idea based on the mobile technology that addresses a social challenge in India, we are looking for you to represent India at this global platform,said Yogesh Malik, CEO, Uninor.
The Summit will comprise a 3-day programme in Oslo of collaborative workshops, inspire sessions and social activities. The outcome of the summit will be a video presenting the participants ideas as a digital bouquet of ideas, which will then be presented to the Nobel Peace Center .The ideas will also be presented at the global telecoms event the Mobile World Congress in 2014.
Uninor has also partnered with student and recent graduates-run organization, AIESEC as its partners to seek participants from India.
