IoT is going to play a big role in developing Smart cities

“I started my start-up into IoT in 2009 and we came up with certain products and protocols for it. I was also the advisor for the Govt. of India to set up the IoT draft policy for India. We identified certain elements and thereby advised that certain IoT products should be there into the Smart city projects. Some of these products are Smart Street Light which is a street light automation system, environmental sensors, parking automation and so on. I have seen smart city tenders coming in for last 3-4 years since the time the programme was announced, and I am also tracking the smart cities that are happening. The state of Gujarat seems to be ahead of others and so do Rajasthan in this project. But the tender documents or the requirements laid down by the Bhubaneswar Smart city are astonishing.”
