With such a handsome range of products, Toshiba is getting aggressive day by day.
Expanding penetration
Toshiba India recently announced Supertron Electronics Ltd. as its national distributor for the AMD processor-powered Laptops and entire range of Netbooks. The appointment of Supertron Electronics is in line with the company's plans to aggressively expand its penetration in the country and further its reach to consumers in the tier II and tier-III towns. Thus, now Toshiba has a network of total of four national distributors and 10 regional distributors for its Laptop business across India.
Pranab Mohanty said, "Through this tie-up, we, at Toshiba, have taken another step to reach out to all our potential consumers in smaller cities and towns and provide them the opportunity to own the latest technology. With their over two decades experience coupled with massive market footprint, it has become easier for our channel partners in the tier-II and tier-III cities to access Toshiba's AMD processor-powered Laptops and the entire range of Netbooks."
With the appointment of Supertron Electronics Ltd., a larger number of IT retail partners across India, especially in the tier-II and tier-III cities, can look forward to a better and more attentive distribution services for Toshiba's feature-rich AMD processor-powered Laptops and the entire range of Netbooks. This collaboration will also grant consumers easy access to the new lineup of Toshiba laptops featuring exciting powerful computing and multimedia features at extremely aggressive price points.
Channel empowerment
The company has a multipronged strategy to empower their channel partners.
• Display Zones: Toshiba invests to ensure proper display of products at their retail stores. Depending upon the retail format, we provide LCD/LED TV Walls, in-store merchandising, Laptop stands and Glow Sign Boards to our channel partners.
• Demo Contents: These highlight the key innovative features of their products in their full glory.
• Manpower: For key retail partners, they provide in-shop demonstrators to help them explain product features to the customers in a better way.
• Training: Their trained staff imparts product technical and behavioural training to the channel's manpower.
But at the same time the support offered depends upon the retail format, i.e. Shop Toshiba, LFRs, MBOs and TZPPs.
Finally…
India is still ruled by "mom & pop" business type and therefore human relationship is very important. "Building up the Trust and sustaining such trust by fulfilling the commitment is basic. Also, flexibility with close communication builds confidence among each other," he informs. Leveraging strongly on these points, Toshiba is building a long-term relationship perspective.
