TK Paul appointed as the advisor-DoT by replacing Ramchand
T K Paul, a 1982-batch Indian Telecommunications Services (ITS) Group has been appointed as the new advisor – Technology at the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), according to the official sources.
Paul will take a formal charge on monday, May 17, 2021, following the voluntary retirement of K Ramchand. Ramchand, a 1982-batch ITS officer, however, quit the crucial advisory post with effect from May 13.
In May, last year, Paul, working as an advisor WB LSA, was entrusted with the additional charge of director general (DG) – Telecom.
Last year, a panel headed by Ramchand, made a slew of suggestions that included using Indian core for the rollout of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) fourth generation or 4G network, a condition which was opposed by the state-run telco.
