TikTok owner ByteDance might come up with OpenAI's ChatGPT rival soon
It has been rumored that ByteDance, the company behind TikTok, is working on a platform that will allow people to build their own AI chatbots, much to OpenAI's GPT shop. This action coincides with an increase in interest in AI, as several businesses have unveiled AI chatbots of their own. By the end of this month, a public beta version of ByteDance's platform might be live.
As per the internal memo sent to the company's employees, the upcoming platform would "allow the company to explore new generative AI products and how they can integrate with the existing ones." If rumors are to be believed then ByteDance’s platform will compete with OpenAI's recently-launched GPTs, which lets users create customised ChatGPT bots.
ByteDance’s platform is at present unnamed and will reportedly provide users with tools to create their own chatbots, democratising access to this powerful technology. This can open the door for a wide array of applications, from customer service bots to personalised education assistants.
ByteDance is also working on a text-to-image generator for a while now. The generative AI model is very similar to Midjourney.
