“The surface area to tackle security increases multifold with introduction on “BYOD” and IoT. A small sensor may have a malware embedded in it that would send it as part of data to server and compromise its security and associated devices on network.
No doubt “SOC” is taking a central place in any organization. The real question though is what will the “SOC” comprise of? It definitely cannot just be an “out of box” solution. It will have to be a combination of security mechanisms working in sync to produce optimum power to fight the threats.
While number and types of threats keep on increasing every moment, it is not possible to keep on upgrading technologies every moment. To some extent use of predictive analysis helps to prevent some kind of attack variants but it is to a very limited extent,” opines GS Murthy, Chief Executive Officer, ESDS.
