“Service and support has become the stronghold in the sustenance and success of a product/ service. Without a good service and support system, a product hardly brings value to the table. As CMOs we are responsible for growth by shaping up the brand through customer engagement and communications; designing service support and delivery, developing a distinct product portfolio; and thereby driving sales. However, given the current market scenario, service and support is by far the most significant aspect of a successful product.
In the largely homogeneous market of ours, it is quite a challenge to make a mark for yourself, unless you’re incredibly disruptive or you have a unique offering. One thing that you can never go wrong with, however, is customer experience – you may have a breakthrough idea, but if it isn’t backed by sound service and support it’s going to fade away sooner or later. At CP PLUS, my focus has always been in product differentiation, value addition, customer connect and reach. We have a skilled service and support team who is trained from time to time to keep their skills and expertise relevant and updated. So, our aim isn’t just to offer a great product, but a promise of a great experience.
As a marketer, probably the biggest hurdle in the way of Digital India’s success is bandwidth infrastructure and reach. For Digital India to have a large scale impact on citizens across the nation, a robust infrastructure needs to be set up to meet the burgeoning bandwidth needs of the digital space. Moreover, the digital divide, which is a colossal challenge, needs to be addressed through the last mile connectivity in remote rural areas. Presently, over 50,000 villages remain deprived of mobile connectivity. Lack of clarity in policies and infrastructural bottlenecks further add to the challenges.”
