Telegram announces new features to enhance group communication

Telegram, which has over 800 million monthly active users, has announced new updates in group communication with the introduction of nine innovative features. These enhancements redefine the dynamics of many-to-many conversations, offering unparalleled customization and interaction within group chats. One of the features is Boosts for Groups, a feature enabling groups to level up through member boosts or giveaways. Higher group levels unlock an array of premium features, including voice-to-text transcription and custom emoji packs, enriching the group chat experience.

Stories from Groups

The introduction of Group Stories, empowering group administrators to share stories and ignite interactive discussions among members. Members can seamlessly respond to these stories, facilitating the exchange of ideas and fostering a sense of community camaraderie. To post a story as your group, either tap the story icon (+) on the group's profile or select the group in the 'Post Story As' section of the story editor.

Emoji Status, Covers, Wallpapers, and Link Styles

Enhanced Customization Options allow boosted groups to personalize their appearance with unique wallpapers, profile covers, and link styles. Emoji statuses offer a fun twist, with thousands of options available for group members to express themselves creatively. To customize your group, open its profile and select Edit > Appearance. The group's level determines which appearance settings are available.

Group Emoji Packs

Telegram introduces Group Emoji Packs, enabling higher-level groups to select custom emoji sets for all members to use within the chat, enhancing communication and fostering a sense of identity.

Voice-to-Text and More

For members of boosted groups, Voice-to-Text Transcription ensures seamless communication by providing unlimited transcription for voice and video messages exchanged within the group.

Permissions for Boosters

Admins now have the ability to grant Special Permissions for Boosters, allowing boosted group contributors to enjoy unique privileges, such as bypassing Slow Mode or other restrictions. Furthermore, the introduction of Telegram Premium offers users exclusive boosts that can be allocated to any group or channel, with additional boosts awarded for gifting Premium.
