TECNO comes up with new range of AI camera-centric smartphones

TECNO, the premium smartphone brand from TRANSSION India, has announced a new range of “Made-in-India” smartphones under the CAMON portfolio. Staying true to its DNA, the brand takes its bandwagon of superlative camera-centric smartphones a notch higher, by launching three new smartphones – CAMON iAIR2+, CAMON i2 and CAMON i2X – priced at Rs.8,999, Rs10,499 and Rs.12,499, respectively.

With this launch, it further reinforces its position as a leading camera-centric smartphone player in India. The newly-launched trio went on sale from September 26 and would be available across 35,000+ offline retail stores.

Features of new TECNO range:

AI powered camera: The trio smartphone is equipped with a premium twin camera setup which is an integration of a 13MP main rear camera using f/1.8 aperture and an f/2.4 aperture on the secondary rear camera. It also comes with AI Bokeh mode, which identifies object/person and put them in foreground and blurs everything else.

Moving onto the Selfie camera of the smartphone, first, the AI Soft Light enables users to get a clearer selfie under low-light conditions. Second, the camera can shoot in Portrait mode, and applies a Bokeh effect to the background for added aesthetics. This allows users to get the focus on face itself, with the background being blurred. Third, the AI-enabled Beauty Mode self-learns 298 facial recognition spots in its algorithm to reference the clicked image against a database of 100,000 Indian human faces to optimize the facial skin tone and contours so that the user's eyes are brighter, the skin looks much smoother and now even eyebrow and beard can be recognized respectively. Finally, the smartphone also supports adjustable Video Chat Flash to help the user make clearer and brighter video calls under low- light conditions.
