Cybercriminals have had a field day during 2011. Many large enterprises reported incidents of data theft from their supposedly secure databases. The same fate befell the smaller companies also. They also became victims of hack attacks and virus infections.
Due to the increasing use of mobile technology, 2012 will be no better. On the contrary, security threats may assume more ominous proportions. And, it is only to be expected. As security systems are getting more sophisticated, there is every possibility that cybercriminals will find more complex and innovative ways of keeping pace or staying ahead.
Needless to say, the computer security is one of the most critical areas of Information Technology (IT). Over the years, technology has evolved and now there are several gadgets and gizmos arriving as a continuous process. The question is how to secure those gadgets against cyber attacks. Going forward, three components are getting developed at a time, i.e. developer and destroyer and the solution provider, we call as the innovation of technology era.
17 per cent of cybercrime victims of India have been attacked through mobile, and India ranks sixth globally for malicious activities in 2010.
The real challenge before every organization is ensuring business continuity and methodology of success on how we could epitomize the next generation of security software solutions that could handle security threats. We require a better policy from the Government, and corporates should come up with robust and secure solution architecture against these threats.
The solar industry is an area that has opened new avenues of opportunities. Thanks to the extensive government support, the segment is attracting many players. However, some constraints need to be removed.
Can you think of another person who would have had the vision to take his company to greater heights from a mobile phone with no keypad, great design with the amazing apps and accessories ecosystem that led to the re-invention of the tablet and who transformed the notion of personal computer and cellphone? He left an indelible mark on combined technology and user experience with superb execution. I really cannot think of another individual impacting technology in the same way as Steven Paul Jobs did. His legacy will be remembered for many, many years to come. Hope Tim Cook will bring more exciting products and try to fill the gap left by Steve Jobs.
