Synology launches RS814+ and RS814RP+ NAS Servers
To provide full featured network attached storage solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses, Synology has introduced RS814+ and RS814RP+ scalable 1U 4-bay rackmount NAS servers.
Powered by a 2.13GHz dual-core processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM and four gigabit LANs with Link Aggregation enabled, the RS814+/RS814RP+ brings forth over 330MB/s reading and 196MB/s writing under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment. Businesses can further upgrade system RAM to 4GB in tandem with their expanding workloads and grow the total storage space up to 32TB by pairing it with an expansion unit RX410.
The RS814+/RS814RP+ are equipped with a comprehensive set of reliable mechanisms to ensure continuous system uptime during unexpected events. Four LAN ports with failover support provide redundancy in the event of unexpected network failure while hot swappable drives also help to minimize system downtime during drive replacement. The redundant power supplies in RS814RP+ further guarantee uninterrupted service when power failure strikes.
“The need for more powerful processing power surges as data usage grows exponentially. The RS814+/RS814RP+ is designed to address such needs, and is also optimized for business environments by providing performance, reliability and scalability at an affordable cost,” said Michael Wang, Product Manager, Synology Inc.
The RS814+/RS814RP+ runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.3 operating system that provides a host of applications to bring better productivity at work.
Synology RackStation RS814+ and RS814RP+ are now shipping globally.
