Synology introduces RS814 NAS Solution for Office and Workgroups

Synology has introduced a scalable 1U 4-bay rack mount NAS server, RackStation RS814 designed to be a full-featured network attached storage solution, with scalability up to 32TB with Synology RX410 as well as provide optimal price/performance ratio.

The RS814 is designed to provide the optimal price/performance ratio. Powered by a 1.33 GHz dual-core CPU and link aggregation, the RS814 delivers read-and-write speeds of over 210MB/s and 130MB/s, respectively under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment. The overall performance is enhanced with the integration of built-in floating-point unit (FPU) and 1GB DDR3 RAM, ensuring faster multimedia processing and multi-tasking.

In addition, the RS814 comes with a new hardware encryption engine which outperforms the previous generation of 4-bay rack mount NAS by delivering up to 60% growth in both read and write speeds while transferring AES 256-bit encrypted files.

The RS814 runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.3 operating system that provides a host of applications to bring better productivity at work. Synology RackStation RS814 is now shipping globally.
