Synology announces availability of DiskStation DS1813+
An 8-bay NAS server DiskStation DS1813+ from Synology has been launched to offer performance and resilience with comprehensive business solutions for SMBs.
Wayne An, Product Manager, Synology, said, "With four fully configurable gigabit LAN ports, storage expansion up to 18 HDDs, and the hardware fail-proof design, the DS1813+ not only delivers an astounding performance in file transfer, but also offers business users with the flexibility in deployment and redundancy in the event of unexpected hardware failure."
DS1813+ can deliver up to an average of 350+ MB/sec in reading and 200+ MB/sec in writing speed under RAID 5 configuration in a Windows environment with link aggregation. Its features include 2.13 GHz dual-core CPU, 2 GB DDR3 RAM expandable up to 4 GB and iSCSI support. It runs on DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.2 and is ideal for multitasking, data-encryption and video transcoding. It can be seamlessly integrated with major virtualization solutions, including VMware vSphere 5 with VAAI support, Citrix XenServer and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 with Hyper-V.
