Tell us about Swipe Telecom in India?
Swipe is an emerging telecommunication corporation catering to diverse cross-section of society from a common man to conglomerates with advanced solutions. Bolstered by a fervent team of industry veterans with proficiency spanning from information technology to nanotechnology, we are committed to ensure immaculate end-user experience, especially in our maiden venture of tablet solutions in India and the USA. Currently, our team strength stands at around 78, which is growing every day.
Do you feel Tabs with SIM slots have a market, considering their size as compared to mobile phones?
We have one of the leading market research firms on our advisory board. The firm consults Fortune 500 companies like Samsung, LG. As 80% of their clients back us up with data, based on their reports, there is a visible segment of people in India who actually want to use their tablet for making calls, with 5-inch screen sized mobiles making a mark, big size screens are in. Besides offering utility and elegance, Swipe believes that it can make SIM-based tablet affordable to the Indian consumers.
Why do you say industry's first 3D Tab, since competitors have same too. Is it because of the pricing or because of any special feature?
3D LIFE is India`s first 3D tablet with 3D glasses without any doubt. The tablet market in India is booming and we understand that there are some traders who claim to have imported a similar product, given our hardware, branding, products designed in California and as declared by the top news agencies of India we are the first as it uses Anaglyph technology. We have a strong technology background with 11 patents.
How do you see the potential in the Indian market and what is your go-to-market strategy?
The Indian market is humongous and there is a huge opportunity for a quality telecommunication brand. We look forward to be visible in the space of competitively priced but quality products. So here we are with a simple strategy to not just provide a product but an experience to the end-consumer.
We have realized that customers still need to be educated about a few basic things if they are first-time buyers. They have a lot of expectations but don’t realize the conditions and limitations of any device. Thus, at Swipe, we ensure that our partners educate their customers nicely, to avoid any dissatisfaction. The battery life is a major concern here. So we try to educate them –like it takes about two hours to charge fully and this lasts for about 4–10 hours (with default system settings). In default system settings and full charge mode, it is about 6 hours of eBook reading, 8 hours of music playback, 8 hours of video playback or 6 hours of web browsing. The life of Swipe Tab gets shorter if you operate multiple applications at the same time.
As of now, you have three models. Can you share plans for expanding the range?
We already have a road-map of revolutionary products for this financial year. All we can say is that all the products will be the first to be introduced in India. We are hopeful of becoming India's number one player in a range of tablet portfolio within a short span of just 30 days.
How are you looking at the warranty and post-sales reach?
Our products carry a standard 1 year warranty. This is supported by a fully integrated customer care support and 610-plus service centres which ensure our customers stay with us with a smile and add to our pride.
