Sunil Sharma, Managing Director Sales - Sophos India & SAARC
“We believe that predictive protection is the future of IT security. Businesses need cybersecurity solutions to detect, prevent and remediate today’s sophisticated threats. We have taken a huge step forward by including deep learning neural network technology in our products such as Intercept X, Sophos Sandstorm and the XG firewall, which are also our top trending products along with Sophos Phish Threat which educates and tests end users through automated attack simulations, quality security awareness training and actionable reporting metrics.
Gartner recognized Sophos as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant 2018 for Endpoint Protection Platforms. Sophos has been positioned as a Leader in all 10 of these reports since they were first published in 2007, and is a testament of us being an industry leader in data protection. Our Synchronized Security and Synchronized Encryption further leverage security adaptation and automation across multiple layers of security, in line with Gartner’s recommendations in this report. Sophos is also #1 for Enterprise and Small Business Protection as per the SE Labs Endpoint Report.
Sophos’ renewal business has grown by a whopping 140% in FY18. Our renewal base for Fy19 has crossed the 2bn USD mark. While the IT security market is growing by approximately 8% pa, Sophos’ billing grew by 22% in FY18. Sophos is a world leader in endpoint and network security solutions with a balanced revenue share across network and endpoint. We are focussed on our growth strategy and equipped to capture a similar market share in India as well.
Last several years could be described as a milestone year for data breaches, with the sophistication and frequency of attacks growing dramatically. Sophos has been continuously trying to innovate and come up with right solutions in the cyber security space.
As the pioneer of synchronized security, Sophos continues to execute against its vision for a security system where products can directly share status and threat information, to automate and improve the time taken to respond to potential threats. Channel partners across the world have embraced this innovation and see it as a unique market differentiator and a successful proposition for their customers. To add to that, Sophos is doing something that has never been done in the IT security market. We are succeeding at being a leading provider of both end-user and network security across the world.
Developments in Deep Learning
Deep learning is better suited to the massive amounts of cybersecurity data than ‘old school’ machine learning techniques has been proven to deliver better detection, fewer false positives and has less of an impact on system resources. Today, deep learning has been included in the Group’s Intercept X endpoint protection product introducing ‘predictive security’ to organisations of all sizes. Sophos Sandstorm has been enhanced with deep learning-based technology and SophosLabs has recently accelerated its automated threat analysis systems by the adoption of this technology. Sophos plans to add the advantage of artificial intelligence to other appropriate areas of its portfolio in due course.
Trusted Partner
Sophos puts its partners first in everything it does, from sales to marketing to support. With no conflict in sales or marketing objectives, Sophos focuses 100 per cent of its resources on building products and programs that are designed with the needs of channel partners in mind.
