Streamcloud to launch its first data center in India

Streamcast Group has announced its plans to launch a high compute data center in Sawantwadi, Maharashtra, through its cloud computing business, Streamcloud. Spread across 12 acres of land, Streamcloud’s new data center will mark the company’s first data center in India with an investment of over Rs.2,200+ crore over the next four-five years.

Laying the foundation of Streamcloud’s first data center in India, Streamcast Group has held a groundbreaking ceremony in presence of Hon. Minister Deepak Kesarkar as the Chief Guest of the occasion along with Hon. Vinayak Raut, Member of Parliament for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg Constituency, and Nimish Pandya, Chairperson, Streamcast Group.

Shri Deepak Kesarkar, Minister of State for Home (Rural) Planning, Finance and Guardian Minister of Sindhudurg, says, “Sindhudurg is a haven of natural beauty. We are opening the doors of technology and with that, opportunities of employment and specialised training. And with Streamcast’s philosophy of benefiting the entire community, the launch of SAI Centre of IT Excellence will give the youth of Sindhudurg an opportunity to train in all facets of hardware and software development, empowering them to work anywhere in this global landscape.”

In line with the company’s philosophy of supporting community, Streamcast Group will also be setting up a vocational centre under the name of SAI Centre of IT Excellence which will offer IT courses for students. The center will be launched with the aim to provide the youth of Sindhudurg and Maharashtra with the opportunities to skill themselves in the field of Information Technology and thereby generate employment.
