Sparsh Writes a Compelling Script

Sanjeev Sehgal,
Managing Director,
SPARSH
Security has been a prime concern all over the world. The growing terrorist activities, coupled with increasing crime rates have driven up the domestic demand for effective security systems across the country. In this regard, use of closed circuit television (CCTV) or video surveillance, in particular, has emerged as the most viable solution that has gained significant momentum in the country.
Sparsh- a manufacturer of technologically advanced electronic security devices has operations across India with Head Office in Noida, manufacturing unit in Haridwar and service centers in Noida, Delhi, Nagpur, Kolkata and Coimbatore. They are into manufacturing more than 200 camera models and all the products are indigenously manufactured under the brand “Sparsh”. With lot of focus on in house R&D they offer customized products and solutions to their partners.
Surveillance market has seen a robust growth since last few years and it is believed that the trend would continue for another five years, CCTV market seeing the maximum growth. As per various estimations the Indian Security Industry is sized at approximately 2200 Cr. value wise out of which CCTV market share is approximately 880 Cr. which is increasing steeply. The Indian safety and security market had been growing at a modest rate of 22% CAGR from past few years.
Sparsh has a PAN India network of more than 500 resellers comprising of franchisees, distributors, channel partner and system integrators. They have been consistently growing at an average rate of 80 percent for last four years. This year they have grown more than 100 percent in terms of volume and target to grow by 100 percent in revenue also.
India imports 80-90 per cent of its raw materials and components for the electronics industry, pushing the cost of manufacturing to a higher level and ultimately raise the cost of the end products. Indian manufacturers, therefore, fail to compete with International companies.
Sanjeev Sehgal, MD, Sparsh says, “But we believe that India has great potential to be the next manufacturing hub of electronic products. The world sees us as a Chinese alternative and now it depends on us how we grab the opportunity. The Draft National Policy on Electronics and the National Manufacturing Policy is one such step in this direction. The policies envisage a number of fiscal incentives like income tax concession on venture capital funds with a focus on small and medium enterprises (SME), rollover relief from long-term capital gains tax to individuals on sale of a residential property wherever such sale consideration is invested in the equity of a new start-up SME, viability gap funding to polytechnics and special purpose vehicle in proposed National Manufacturing and Investment Zones (NMIZs) etc. There would be other tax benefits for adopting green technology.”
Regular training programmes are conducted for their partners and the channel partner are trained enough that they really don't require hand holding. The Partner Program enables partners to offer complete solutions and have a good understanding of the different parts in a Surveillance system.
