Signify, FICCI Join Hands On Workplace Safety
Industry body FICCI signed an MoU with Signify Innovations India Ltd highlighting the importance of lighting in workplace safety. Both would carry out series of activities to further the cause of safety at workplace.
The MoU was signed by Mr Dilip Chenoy, Secretary General, FICCI and Mr Sumit Joshi, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Signify Innovations India Limited.
According to the MoU, both the firms would jointly develop Vision Document for the Industry on the Importance of Lighting in Safety and Productivity within the Industrial Environment.
They will also develop an Assessment framework, Scoring parameters and Ranking System with respect to lighting parameters for FICCI Safety Systems Excellence Awards and train auditors to check the lighting or relevant parameters from an award ranking perspective and do the assessment.
Besides, they will conduct factory visits to Signify Experience center and R & D facility for the plant heads, operations manager, facility/project managers of the key Industry members of FICCI.
“FICCI has been working in the area of workplace safety for the last many years to promote best practices. One of the key aspects of this safety is lighting and our collaboration with Signify marks a significant milestone in our continuous engagement with Netherlands as a country too," said Dilip Chenoy.
“We are happy to collaborate with FICCI as knowledge partner for promoting best safety practices at workplace. Signify shall be happy to share how lighting can improve the safety at workplace and improve the productivity of the workforce," said Sumit Joshi.
This comes as initiative of FICCI Taskforce on Manufacturing Excellence which is already working in the area of workplace safety. Every year FICCI announces its Safety Systems Excellence Awards to recognize best practices in safety systems for workplace safety. FICCI will announce the eight edition of its awards shortly.
