Shrikant Shitole appointed as FireEye’s new country head
The intelligence-led security company FireEye has appointed Shrikant Shitole as its new India Chief.
“Shrikant will be the senior director and country head for India. Based in Mumbai, Shitole is now charged with leading FireEye’s growth efforts in India,” confirmed an official statement.
Shrikant was most recently managing director of Symantec’s enterprise security business in India in a stint spanning a little over two years.
“Cybersecurity has never been more important to our firms, to our people, and to our national security. At FireEye, I plan to lead our efforts to assist more Indian organizations to protect themselves from cyber threats,” said Shrikant Shitole in his new role as Senior Director and Country Head, FireEye India.
After Vishak Raman’s short stint at FireEye, Subhendu Sahu was the acting country manager for the region. Vishak was the regional director for India at FireEye for nine months before he quit in April of 2017. Sahu is the managing director for commercial and retention sales for APJ at FireEye.
After a period of four months, FireEye has found Shrikant Shitole as the new India chief.
Commenting on the new leader for India, Eric Hoh, President, APJ, FireEye, said, “India’s rapid growth and embracing of technology has significantly increased awareness of cybersecurity challenges. This has created some significant opportunities for FireEye, and I’m confident Shrikant will capitalize on this and help FireEye to expand the base of organizations we help protect in India.”
Shrikant is a security industry veteran with over 25 years of experience in information technology. Shitole has held senior roles at several firms in the IT and telecommunications segment, including Cisco, Nelco (Tata Enterprise), Avaya, Sify and the last role as India MD for Symantec.
