Sameer Aggarwal promoted as Walmart India’s Deputy CEO
Walmart India has promoted Sameer Aggarwal as Deputy CEO, with effect from January 1, 2020. Aggarwal was previously the company’s Chief Business Officer (CBO) for a year and had joined the company in 2018 as EVP, Chief Strategy and Administrative officer.
He will report to Krish Iyer, the President and CEO of Walmart India and oversee operations, merchandising, marketing, real estate, kirana development program, digital, ecommerce and strategy.
Aggarwal has an experience of over two decades across industry in general management, strategy, finance, mergers and acquisitions in various countries.
He has previously worked with McKinsey & Company, UK and Australia for several years. An MBA graduate from London Business School, he is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.
Walmart India operates 28 modern wholesale stores under the name Best Price.
