There is no doubt on the biggest crowd-puller we have in the industry. The real picture has come out as the physical film halls are closed and the everything has to move at the mercy of the digital medium.
There is no doubt of the capability of Salman Khan, he is a darling of the masses, but he has to match the content.
Then he explained: I am a film writer's son (his father Salim Khan, along with Javed Akhtar, wrote some of Hindi cinema's most memorable films in the 1970s) and spotting a good script comes naturally to me. I know which film will work at box office and which film will not just by reading the script.'
Today, the film Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai, directed by his Wanted director, Prabhu Deva, has become a joke. Memes on the film have gone viral and the movie has been panned on social media.
A question is on what went wrong with Salman, who could spot a good script so easily? An expert says, Salman is shifting away from his core, which is to look good and act good. If he is going to get involved in other departments of film-making, it will take a toll on the film.
Bollywood film analyst Amod Mehra says: "Salman sits at every point of film-making. He decides what dance steps should be in film. He decides what music should play in his film. He also intervenes in direction and has become too big for himself. He decides everything in his film."
Salman is surrounded by chamchas, his family and friends," Mehra adds. "In reality, he has no true friends who can tell him what is good or bad for him and his films. Clarifying his tweet on Salman, Mehra says, "I don't mean Salman's career is over. I mean his career as a hero is over. He should do supporting roles. Salman has to re-invent himself.
Salman Khan is the only Indian movie star whose last 15 films have earned more than Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) at the box office. Whereas, three of his films -- Bajrangi Bhaijan, Tiger Zinda Hai and Sultan -- have done business of more than Rs 300 crore (Rs 3 billion).
Now all the eyes are on the upcoming film, 'Tiger 3' , which is starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif . Tiger 3 has been facing quite a few roadblocks in the shooting. First, the film came to a halt due to the global Coronavirus pandemic while the second reason was reportedly because of actor Katrina Kaif who was tested positive for COVID-19. However, it was then reported that the shoot is going on as per the plan. Sources said, the film set was damaged due to Cyclone Tauktae in Mumbai.
