Rajamouli’s RRR crosses Rs 1000 crore mark, becomes 3rd highest grossing Indian movie globally
Following the grand success of The Kashmir Files, the latest Indian film to create ripples not only in India but across the globe is SS Rajamouli's RRR. The movie has Jr NTR and Ram Charan in its lead roles.
The movie has managed to cross Rs 1000 crore mark at the box office globally, thus becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film ever, trailing just behind Aamir Khan's Dangal and Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The Conclusion. It is placed on the third spot after Dangal and Baahubali 2.
RRR has successfully surpassed the record of Aamir Khan's Secret Superstar and Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
As per reports, Dangal's worldwide lifetime collection stands at 2,024 crores while Baahuabli's collection was at Rs 1810 crore. While Bajrangi Bhaijaan's worldwide collection is reportedly Rs 969 crores, Secret Superstar's global collection is Rs 977 crores.
RRR is a fictitious story based on two legendary freedom fighters – Alluri Seetha Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem. Sitaramaraju and Bheem fought against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. The movie also stars Ajay Devgan and Alia Bhatt in extended cameo roles.
