PUBG Mobile in banned various Indian cities
Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, popularly known as PUBG, has been imposed with a digital lock and now users under 13 years of age would have to ask their guardians to open the game for them. Specifically, the PUBG Mobile version has received the restriction, a game developed by China's Tencent.
PUBG Mobile has become a nuisance particularly in cities, where most teenagers own or have easy access to mobiles. Addicted students go to a length of killing themselves for parents rejecting to buy them a phone and in some instances, just giving advice to the children is enough to trigger suicidal tendencies. The reason for this ban is allegedly because PUBG is creating a lot of nuisance and apparently causing students to spoil their lives.
A question comes weather the 3G/4G and 5G technology is coming playing the game like this or it is what we talk about the technology revolution? Or it is complementing vision of Digital India and think tanks are talking about, when these companies entering Indian territory why there is no proper due diligence on the modus of operation of the business practices. Tencent Corporation ( Chinese technology maker) which is behind the hit game, recently revealed that the game has over 200 million downloads globally and close to 30 million daily active players. An ultimate question comes on is it Innovation or disruption ( Disturbance).
PUBG is a multiplayer battle game that connects users from around the world in real-time and allows them to fight missions, and is known to indulge players into long hours of gaming. The gaming giant is using technologies like facial recognition and player ID checks to ascertain the ages and identities of those playing Honour of Kings and others in China.
So far, the Gujarat government asked all district administrators to ban PUBG Mobile in all school premises across the state. One of the primary reasons for the prohibition is stated to be the negative adverse effects particularly addiction and loss of interest in studies among students.
After the Gujrat Government took action, Rajkot City Police on Twitter has announced that PUBG Mobile is completely prohibited in the city from March 9 to April 30, as this period is a very important part of the academic year, where state board exams of 10thand 12thgrade are conducted. Now, the Surat district administration too have taken similar action and has enforced the complete ban of PUBG Mobilefrom March 9 for the same duration, as mentioned above.
Advisory to the students:
During the exam time, it's alright to stay away from mobile for a while. If need be call your friends for any doubts in a subject and discuss. Make productive use of the technology, but don't get too attached to it.
