PESB recommends Railtel's A. Seshagiri Rao as CMD, TCIL

The Public Enterprises Selection Board under the ministry of personnel, public grievances & pensions has recommended A. Seshagiri Rao, director, Network Planning & Marketing, Railtel as CMD of TCIL.

The PESB interviewed 10 candidates for the post of CMD, TCIL which includes: Rajesh Kapoor, director, Technology, TCIL; Kamlakar Kaul, executive director, IT, TCIL; Atul Kumar, executive director, TCIL; Sunil Kumar, director, HR, MTNL; Praveen Varshney, senior chief engineer, BSNL; Rajesh Kumar, general manager, BSNL; Rakesh Kumar Sinha, director, HR, NTC; A. Seshagiri Rao, director, Network Planning & Marketing, Railtel; Swapan Kumar Pal, director, Finance, NBCC; and P Eshwar, CMD, Instrumentation Limited Kota.

A Seshagiri Rao is an electronics and communications Engineer from J.N.T.U., Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh). He started his career in Railways as an IRSSE officer and worked in all fields of signalling & telecommunication. Seshagiri Rao worked in Microwave maintenance, maintenance of signalling and communication in major divisions, construction works of signalling such as panel, route relay and SSI, installations and planning of the works and works programme for the Railways before joining RailTel on deputation initially.

On the academic front he is a merit scholarship holder right from his school days till the completion of his engineering and received state and university ranks at all levels. He has to his credit more than 28 years of experience in the field of electronics and communications. He is associated with RailTel since 2001 and is now responsible for network planning & marketing of RailTel as a director.
