OpenAI's ChatGPT now speaks in 5 different voices

With the addition of a voice capability, OpenAI has improved its ChatGPT software so that the chatbot can now react to spoken questions using its own voice. Five personas, including "Juniper," "Beeze," and "Ember," are available for users to choose from, and these personas will be used by the chatbot to produce audio for its responses. With this innovation, ChatGPT discussions should feel more human-like. 

These voices have different personalities and speaking styles. For example, Juniper is described as being "friendly and helpful," while Sky is described as being "curious and intelligent.” Users can choose which voice they want ChatGPT to speak in by going to the Settings menu in the ChatGPT app. They can also change the voice at any time during a conversation by typing "/voice [voice name]" in the chat box.

Voice and image give you more ways to use ChatGPT in your life. Snap a picture of a landmark while traveling and have a live conversation about what’s interesting about it. When you’re home, snap pictures of your fridge and pantry to figure out what’s for dinner (and ask follow up questions for a step by step recipe). After dinner, help your child with a math problem by taking a photo, circling the problem set, and having it share hints with both of you.

OpenAI says that the new voices are designed to make ChatGPT more engaging and interactive. They also say that the voices can be used to create different personas for ChatGPT, which can be useful for different tasks. For example, a user could choose the Juniper voice for a customer service chatbot, or the Sky voice for a chatbot that is designed to answer questions about science and technology.

I am excited about the new voices for ChatGPT, and I believe that they have the potential to make ChatGPT even more useful and versatile.
