Nitin Bawankule to head sales in Star India
Nitin Bawankule has left Google Cloud and Star India had roped Nitin Bawankule to head the ad sales from October this year.
He has been with Google India for over eight years as the head of Sales for multiple verticals including ecommerce, retail, classifieds, education.
Sources said, Nitin will join Star India on October 1st, highly place sources in the company confirmed. He will fill in the position vacated by Amit Chopra, who left Star India in May to join Samara Capital-owned Nature’s Essence as managing director.
Nitin is joining Star India in the midst of its merger with Disney. Bawankule, an IIM Bangalore alumnus, comes with over 25 years of experience in traditional sales and digital space. He been with Google for over eight years and was given the responsibility of the cloud business in May last year.
Nitin has worked at Dell, Motorola Mobility, Whirlpool and Godrej GE Appliances before joining Google in 2011.
