Nikon Lens production reaches 85 Million
Nikon India has revealed that the total production of NIKKOR lenses 1 for Nikon interchangeable lens cameras has reached eighty-five million at the beginning of January 2014.
Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India said, “Nikon’s endeavor has always been providing customers with new offerings which encourages them towards photography and helps them pursue their passion with utmost commitment. The history of Nikon cameras has always gone hand in hand with the history of NIKKOR lenses and we have always sworn to bring in innovative technologies which incubates photography ecosystem.”
He added, “With the total production of NIKKOR lenses reaching 85 million, we are setting new benchmarks and are proactively working towards bringing new technologies enabling photographers to enhance their photographic experience.”
In August 2013, Nikon announced the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-140mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR, an approximately 7.8x high-power normal zoom lens that covers a broad range of angles of view and is compatible with Nikon DX-format digital SLR cameras.
In October 2013, Nikon added the AF-S NIKKOR 58mm f/1.4G, a fast normal lens compatible with Nikon FX-format digital SLR cameras that proposes new photographic creativity possible only with NIKKOR lenses, to its lineup.
In January 2014, Nikon added the AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G ED3 portable lens.
