NIIT’s CISO bags the “Security Leader of the Year” Title

NIIT Technologies has announced that its Vice-President & Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) Arun Kumar Anand has won the DSCI (Data Security Council of India) Excellence Awards 2013 for Security Leader of the Year in a row.
The award recognizes Arun’s role in taking strategic and innovative steps in addressing key security issues and creating a conducive environment for doing business, thus enabling NIIT Technologies to harness data protection as a lever for business growth. A focal body on data protection in India, set up as an independent Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) by NASSCOM, DSCI promotes data protection, develops security and privacy best practices and encourages the Indian industries to implement the same.
Arun Kumar Anand, VP & CISO, NIIT Technologies, said, “It is, indeed, a very humbling experience for me to receive this award from DSCI for the second consecutive year. This proves NIIT Technologies’ credibility as one of the best IT organizations in the country that has achieved great heights in mobilizing highest level of information security across its internal projects and functions.”
Under Anand’s able leadership, several innovative steps to ensure information security at NIIT Technologies have been taken which includes an Online Risk Assessment and Monitoring Mechanism which is an efficient online mechanism to monitor and analyze information security processes across the organization enabling capturing of risks and then minimizing them.
