Net4 India enters Security Space with Net4 Secure

Net4 India Ltd., a leading provider of IP Communications Services and Solutions, announced its entry in the security services business with a brand new service – Net4 Secure. First of its kind in India, Net4 Secure is an automated security auditing service for websites and online applications.

Net4 shall invest to the tune of Rs.14 crore over the next three years in application and network-related infrastructure for this service segment. Net4 expects business to scale up to the tune of Rs.30 crore per annum in FY2010.

Speaking on the launch, Jasjit Sawhney, Chairman & CEO, Net4, said, “This year we are focussed on new product and service launches, innovative service plans, technical collaborations and continued investments in research and development to inject further value to our service portfolio for our customers. We are starting the year in line with our goals for this year, with the launch of Net4 Secure.”

Net4Secure is an application service that could be availed by a business or individual who wants to understand and be aware of the possible security loopholes in their website or online content and related applications. The said service would be costing Rs.4,990 per year, and is available for just Rs.999, as an introductory offer lasting up to February 2008. Also, Net4, along with Appin Security Group, will offer a range of security services which include auditing, penetration testing, specialized security consulting, security policy formulation, and development of bespoke security software for one’s organization.

 Sawhney added, “Net4, in technical partnership with Appin Security Group, an IIT Delhi incubated company, would offer cyber security services to websites and/or any online applications by way of ethical hacking – an approach adopted with the permission of a client, to see the possibilities of all lapses in security from an–‘unethical hackers’ view.” Net4 will initially target its own vast customer base of 75,000 hosted websites, over 700 Data Centre customers and over 200,000 registered domain names. There would also be an aggressive Internet-based advertising campaign aimed at reaching customers and web resellers in select international markets as well, other than India.

With a tremendous increase in hacking incidents and cyber security threats over the past few years in India and abroad, Net4 Secure is a much-awaited solution to tackle attacks on web-based online content.
