Music director Wajid Khan passed away at 42
Music composer, director and singer Wajid Khan, of Sajid Wajid duo, died at the age of 42 in the wee hours of Monday morning. He tested positive for COVID-19. Wajid had undergone a kidney transplant a few months ago as he was suffering from kidney ailments too. He was hospitalised a few days ago complaining of health complications, where his condition deteriorated. The music director was on the ventilator for the last few days; today, he breathed his last.
Wajid Khan had composed most of the songs of actor Salman Khan's movies and even had a hand in composing the recent Bhai-Bhai song released by the actor last week.
Music composer Salim Merchant, who confirmed the news of Wajid’s death, said, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection. He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical.”
