MoMagic expanding and investing in the space of AI & Data Analytics
Arun Gupta, CEO and Founder - MoMAGIC Technologies speaks to VARINDIA on what would be the company’s focus for the India market and the success mantra to build its presence here -
Could you tell us more about the company - of when was it founded & by whom, and about your vision & mission?
MoMAGIC Technologies founded in 2011, is a fast-paced, innovative, and data-driven mobile tech organization with dominance in South Asia. Headquartered in New Delhi, India, and with strategic investments from two technological giants, MediaTek (Asia’s largest IC design company) and Foxconn (the world’s largest high-tech manufacturer), the company has a strong business foundation in India. With over 400 + employees including 70+ data intelligence, AI & marketing experts in Asia, the company is helping its business partners- brands, acquire quality users and drive effective revenue growth.
What kind of solutions do you offer and how has it benefited your customers?
MoMAGIC’s Ad Intelligence Platform uses AI to identify and target the best audience for client’s campaign using AI algorithms that predict the behaviour of user’s.
The platform draws on the extensive knowledge of user behaviour and device ownership based on AI that helps compile and decide what audiences to target, at what time of day, geo-location and on what screen. The Ad Intelligence Platform combines audience targeting, inventory, and bidding and optimization infrastructure to take the guesswork, out of the campaigns.
MoMAGIC Programmatic Platform provides access to brand-safe, premium programmatic inventory on a global scale. Connect with the right digital users directly and ensure brand has the optimum reach. The programmatic media buying can be set to target particular audiences and Geo-locations of choice. With an innovative way to seal the deals within advertising platform, there are no one-on-one price negotiations and tiring debates between the parties because ad buying is done automatically.
You also have a successful e-commerce venture in Bangladesh. Could you also tell us more about it?
MoMAGIC started its e-commerce venture with Pickaboo in Bangladesh in mid-2016. The venture is highly successful gaining the number two position in the said sector.
Pickaboo currently offers deals in only electronics and appliances, a common choice for any new e-commerce marketplace. It currently operates on a part-inventory and part-marketplace model, while it partners with local logistics companies for deliveries across the country.
What has been your success mantra to build your presence in the market?
My success mantra is “Life is simple and does not use complicated algorithms on simple things”.
Do you have any expansion plans for the global market with your solutions?
MoMAGIC has been investing and expanding in the space of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics and recently has set-up an R&D center in Taiwan with 15+ engineers. This team is working on a Data Management Platform (DMP) for digital marketing and CRM.
MoMAGIC will expand its base to South East Asia in the coming years and offer AI integrated solutions for digital marketing and business consultancy.
In the e-commerce space, the company is already in Bangladesh with Pickaboo.
What is your future roadmap in terms of product expansion, market growth and customer acquisition?
The company that started with the idea of offering R&D driven software differentiation enhancement service to handset and phone manufacturers and aimed to bring in content driven value added offerings to the end user, in the earlier days of 2011; is today a recognized key partner for brands, OEMs, start-ups and Ad agencies for Digital Ad Tech (mobile) marketing campaigns.
MoMAGIC, today has a significant reach in South Asian market, serving quite many prestigious brands such as Uber, Opera, PhonePe, UC, Sharechat, MakeMyTrip, Swiggy; along with local brands, for driving their Mobile Marketing campaigns including for advertisers / agencies.
MoMAGIC, now determines to transform itself to be a "Big Data & AI-based Company" and to align this transformation, MoMAGIC established an APAC R&D and Business Operation Center in Taipei City of Taiwan in Feb 2018, responsible for Big Data and AI solution development; also to initiate APAC business to support MoMAGIC Group's global strategic expansion. It’s a critical leap for MoMAGIC, to be a truly global company in the Internet and Ad Tech space.
