Microsoft Translator now supports Kashmiri, Bodo, Dogri, and Bhojpuri
Bhojpuri, Bodo, Dogri, and Kashmiri are now among the four new Indian languages that have been included to Microsoft's Translator app. Microsoft Translator now supports 20 Indian languages, which includes dialects used by around 95% of the nation's citizens. Microsoft is now a step closer to achieving its aim of supporting all 22 of India's official languages.
The translation feature is accessible via the Microsoft Translator app, Edge browser, Office 365, Bing Translator, and the Azure AI Translator API for businesses and developers. Companies like Jio Haptik and Koo have already integrated this tool to enhance their services.
Microsoft's partnership with Jio Haptik proves to be pivotal in eliminating language barriers and empowering India's diverse communities through inclusive access to technology. Swapan Rajdev, Co-founder & CTO of Jio Haptik, expressed enthusiasm about the development, highlighting the potential for businesses to reach wider audiences by providing support in languages like Bhojpuri, Bodo, Kashmiri, and Dogri.
About 61 million people are expected to benefit from this development, which will also open up new commercial and employment prospects for regional craftspeople and companies. They will be able to engage with a larger audience as a result, promoting inclusivity and growth.
