Meditations on IT Support: 3 Things That Are "Better Together" in the Work-from-Anywhere Era

It’s been 4 weeks since my toddler returned to daycare. As most parents working at home with young children can attest to, the WFH experiment was not without challenges. Working parents have seen their commutes disappear along with the boundaries between work and personal life. Many of us tackled hands-on parenting with non-stop GoToMeetings and pinging Slack messages. Or if you were lucky like me, you had someone to watch over your kids while you worked heads down in your home office hoping not to hear the pitter-patter of little feet coming up the stairs.

 

My first-hand experience not so shockingly revealed that parenting and working simultaneously are not the best arrangement. But it has unearthed some things that truly are better together, both inside the world of IT support and outside of it. Here are my top 3 things trending now in the Better Together category:

As remote workers settled into the day-to-day of video conference calls from their kitchen table, couch, or home office, Walmart saw increased sales for tops, but not bottoms. Remember this guy from ABC? I’ll admit, I’ve done a few webinars over the last few months in yoga pants and silk blouses.
