"Lovers/Haters are two sides of the same coin": Pooja Bhatt
After the news of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt diagnosed with lung cancer was out, a few hours later the trailers of Mahesh Bhatt’s 1991 romantic thriller Sadak’s sequel, Sadak 2 was released. Amid the raging debate of nepotism, the film’s trailer has been facing flak ever since it was released .The film cast includes Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the pivotal roles. From calling it a film of nepo kids to all kinds of labels, netizens have trolled the video and it has now achieved a feat within 24 hours of its release -- of being the most-disliked trailer on YouTube.
The trailer received mixed reviews on social media the video on YouTube faced a drastic rejection. Sadak 2 trailer has become the most disliked trailer after receiving over 4.2 million dislikes on YouTube within 24 hours of its release. It has received 272K likes so far as we write this. As reported by news papers, this is an absolute unfavourable ‘like-dislike’ ratio.
As soon as the trailer hit online, the audience panned it down and negative campaigning emerged on social media platforms against the film. This majorly took place because of the increasing hatred against Bhatt and his family among the audience due to the Sushant Singh Rajput death case in which nepotism and favouritism are being considered two important phenomena.
Earlier, in a note written to Pooja, daddy Bhatt said that he has now handed over the film to the audience and it depends on them to accept or reject it. “No reputation to hold on to. No mission to accomplish. Nothing to prove to anyone. If the film works it belongs to all of you. If it does not, it’s mine,” the note read.
Reacting to a tweet Pooja wrote that she is not worried about the online attacks that have been launched against the film. “Lovers/Haters two sides of the same coin. Gotta hand it to both for giving us their valuable time and making sure we are trending. Thank you for your wishes,” she wrote.
Sadak 2 is going to stream on Disney+Hotstar on August 28.
