Konica Minolta going aggressive in India market
In a chat with VARINDIA, Daisuke Mori, Managing Director, Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, mentions about the importance of India market and the double-digit growth that the company is experiencing. He also mentions that the company is looking forward to tap the untouched regions and will invest hugely in customer service support and partner network
At present, India market is a powerhouse of potential and opportunities as compared to the rest of the economy. It is becoming a power engine of the world economy. It is being triggered by the wave of digitization and the technology-friendly generation next who greet every new technology with enthusiasm. In the last six years, Konica Minolta has witnessed a double-digit growth in India, whereas in other countries it is single digit.
“Konica Minolta has continued to witness double-digit growth in India for the last six years, whereas the growth of the company from other countries remains at single digit. The country is emerging as a growth engine in the global economy, owing to an unprecedented growth in sectors including IT, Retail, SMBs, government, etc which are creating tremendous opportunities for us. India is also witnessing a rapid shift to digitization, thanks to government efforts coupled with a young tech-savvy population and we are committed to aid this transition with our industry-leading digital printing solutions tailored for a host of industry verticals,” says Daisuke Mori, Managing Director; Konica Minolta Business Solutions India.
Understanding the potential of India market, Konica Minolta is looking forward to penetrate its roots in the untouched regions of the country by forming alliances and promotional activities. The company also enables its partners about the consumer demands and related solutions.
“We are focussing aggressively to expand our penetration in the untapped regions of the country with strategic alliances and promotional initiatives. We are also regularly meeting up with our partners across India to facilitate them in understanding the new emerging requirements of customers as well as to offer the most relevant solutions, as per their business needs,” adds Mori.
Discussing about investment, he reveals, “We will invest significantly to upgrade our customer service support as well as delivery network, particularly in the Optimized Print Services and Document Management System. We will also invest heavily in expanding our partner network as well as for offering them with strategic training and consulting to better help their customers with our next-generation solutions.”
Flourishing Products
Konica Minolta is receiving a good response from India and its latest technology solutions have received huge deployments in the last fiscal.
“Almost all of our products are witnessing an encouraging demand in India. In the digital printing segment, we emerged as one of the leading disruptors in the FY 2016-17. Our trendsetting technologies and solutions like the Simitri HDE toner, bizhub PRESS series have witnessed historic deployments in the last fiscal, by printing businesses in India. We also launched printing automation solutions in this period like Accurio Pro which has helped businesses in better organizing their operations and save significantly on their operational expenses,” says Mori.
Strategy
The company is focussed on its expansion in India and determined to serve both hardware and services verticals with its Optimized Print Services and Document Management System.
“We will continue to focus on expanding our footprint in India and will cater to both hardware and services segment with our business models like Optimized Print Services and Document Management System.
Our Optimized Print Services (OPS) offers a blend of consulting, hardware, software implementation and workflow management in order to lower document spending and enhance information security (prevention of information divulgation),” explains Mori.
Mori also mentions that the company is keen to tap on the SMB segment as it is a growing vertical of the market and it will also help Konica Minolta to strengthen its market share in Multi Functional Printers. “We will also zero in on SMBs which is a promising vertical in the country and will increase our market share of Multi Functional Printers in this segment. We will also aid the green initiatives in India with our eco-friendly printing solutions and business workflows.
To offer maximum efficiency, we analyze the document-intensive workflows in an enterprise to offer the most relevant solutions for optimization of processes.”
Channels
Konica Minolta will prolong its practice to provide customer support to the furthest end possible by expanding its channel network. The company will also concentrate on enabling its partner community.
“We will continue with our legacy to offer last-mile customer support in the year 2017 via enhancing our channel base. With the launch of our new solutions including e-bizVAULT, we will strategically focus on new tie-ups with the channel community. We will also focus on training our existing partners to gain better visibility of our new product lineups and catalyze the digital transition in the country.
