Kajol opens up on the 'taboo' topic of rape
Bollywood actress Kajol said that since people are now starting to open on the subject of rape, it’s good to see the mindset of people changing. She further added that the people have recently started talking about it, as “our society has been patriarchal for ages.”
“It’s strange but parents were earlier hesitant to bring out such incidents in public thinking about their daughter’s future and family reputation. We are now realising that the shame does not lie with the victim, but with the perpetrator,” she said.
Kajol feels there is an important change in our society as far as rape and sexual harassment victims are concerned. Victims are now being supported by their parents and the society has started accepting them and treating them as normal.
