Job postings in Taiwan up by 35% in August 2022 despite prevailing geopolitical tensions
Despite the prevailing geopolitical tensions, job postings in Taiwan rose by 35% in August 2022 compared to previous month, reveals an analysis of the Job Analytics Database of GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company.
Sherla Sriprada, Business Fundamentals Analyst at GlobalData, comments: “Defying the repercussions of the ongoing China-Taiwan conflict, companies seem to be bullish on hiring in the country. GlobalData sees enhanced hiring activity not only by domestic companies but also by several foreign companies having operations in Taiwan.”
Technology sector posted more jobs followed by banking & payments. Some of the notable companies that have posted more jobs in August 2022 compared to previous month include Advantech Co Ltd, Appier Inc, JPMorgan Chase & Co, Parexel International Corp, Synopsys Inc, Citigroup Inc, and Advanced Micro Devices Inc.
Sriprada concludes: “Another interesting hiring trend that caught GlobalData’s attention is the growing interest in cybersecurity space in recent months, which can be attributed to the growing cyberwarfare threats. During July-August 2022, cybersecurity related job postings stood at 31*. Of these, Trend Micro posted 15 jobs, Corning posted five jobs while Dell and Microsoft posted two jobs each.”
