ISODA TS9 sets the business stage ready for Indian and Qatari IT companies

The 9th edition of ISODA (TS9) Summit took place at Hotel Ritz Carlton, Doha, which was joined by around 120 plus delegates. This year, ISODA has joined hands with Indian Business Promotion Council (IBPC) and Indian Embassy – Doha. IBPC is a flagship forum in Doha and it helps in connecting easily with the world of business and professionals in Qatar.

The Summit got underway on 31st January, with a Business Networking dinner supported by Indian Embassy – Doha. It provided a platform for ISodians to network with Qatari IT companies and Indian IT companies in Doha.

While inaugurating the Networking session, ISODA Chairman, N K Mehta introduced ISODA to everyone while thanking Qatar Tourism and the Indian Embassy for helping ISODA organize the event in Doha. “ISODA is a member orientated institution where every members are individual business owners. There are 200 plus business owners who have come and formed this association called ISODA. Every year they meet at some place outside India. But every time this event took place in South-Asian countries; this is for the first time ISODA Tech Summit has come to middle-east and we thank Qatar tourism and Indian Embassy here for facilitating this,” he said.

HE P. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the State of Qatar, who inaugurated the session said, “It is a pleasure to meet you all today. As I came to know about this, I was very excited to know that ISODA is looking at Qatar as its next destination for their annual conference TS9. Today Qatar National Tourism Council, earlier called Qatar Tourism Authority has prioritized India as a major market for promotion of Qatari tourism. They have recently unveiled their strategy and some interesting things came out. Last year the increase of Indian tourists coming to Qatar was 18%; it’s quite sizable considering that we have a 700,000 Indian diaspora here. The base level of tourism from India, because of family members, relatives, friends etc visiting the Indian community here, is quite high.”

Dr R Seetharaman – CEO, Doha Bank, who was the keynote speaker at the session said, “It is my pleasured privilege to be an intricate part of this interesting and exciting session. In the changing phase of the world, it is important for us to recognize that global sustainability is at stake and digitization can play a very big role and that is what we should all aim at. A great amount of transformation is taking place in the world, which is eventually leading companies to change their business strategies.”  

ISODA TS9 was driven by workshops which focused on providing insights to reflect and help in achieving business transformation process. It also provided the opportunity for ISODA members to network with 12+ Qatari IT companies and 30+ Indian IT companies in Doha.

The ISODA Awards for Business Excellence were also announced during the event. Software partners who were rated the best in terms of business performance, business practices and innovations during Financial Year 2017-18 were awarded. The Jury constituted of Devesh Aggarwal of Compusoft Advisors, Kavita Singhal of Kamtron Systems, Nandini Sharma of Comnet Resources and Hiren Shah of Dynamic Computer Services. 

The Jury members independently rated every question in the nomination form and consolidated the marks. Post collation the top ranker was awarded the Business Excellence Award. Besides the Business Excellence Award, the jury had identified 4 categories in which the nominations were distributed based on individual nominations competencies/projects mentioned. The top of each category was also awarded.

The ISODA Business Excellence award was given to Secure Network Solutions India; Icons Infocom was awarded the ISODA Best Digital Transformation Partner; Beehive Software Services as the ISODA Best Software Solution Provider; Shivami Cloud Services as the ISODA Best IT Services Partner and Dev Information Technology as the ISODA Best Innovations Partner.
