Is the lifespan of a smartphone designed for 1 year ?
Today everyone is dependent on a smartphone for some way or the other. Starting from grannys’ to kids, everyone is in need of a smartphone and they have become an indispensable part of our everyday life. With the rising need, the smartphone companies are launching new models every year. Is it really necessary?
Is there really some upgradation in the phone every year? Technology is ever evolving but instead of launching new models with exorbitant prices, can’t the existing phone be upgraded with the latest technology? With every new model phone launch, the definition of “the best” changes greatly confusing the public.
Nokia as a Finnish company still exists and is mainly engaged in network infrastructure, but the Nokia mobile phone brand is licensed to HMD. A big question mark is on if HMD will succeed with the Nokia brand or not.
There has been a hug competition in the smartphone market which has led to a slow death to some of the companies like Sony, LG, HTC, Nokia, Blackberry, Motorola etc to name a few. These brands still exist today and from time to time they manage to launch a few models, but their market share is negligible and it’s only a matter of time before they completely discontinue the smartphone production and disappear from the market.
These brands are slowly falling into oblivion because of the market situation, which is now ruled by Apple, Samsung and some Chinese brands. A question remains unanswered on what is the life span of a Smart phone, weather it is six month or one year.
