IRIS Global Services: A growth and target oriented organization
Sanjiv Krishen, Chairman, IRIS Global Services
We started IRIS in 1996 and it is a 25-year old company. First year our turnover was Rs 5 crore, last year we crossed Rs 1000 crore and next year we are targeting Rs 2500 crore. So the growth has been fairly decent and we want to thank our partners for helping us achieve this milestone.
We have presence in 22 locations starting from J&K to all the way down to the south and from east to the west. We have our own warehouses and people located in these locations.
Some of our esteemed vendors are Dell, HP, Acer, LG, APC etc., so we can offer these products from well renowned companies.
I want to mention particularly about Dell because out of the Rs 1000 to Rs 1500 crores, nearly Rs 500 cores comes from it.
The reason we have had tremendous success with Dell is because it is a one stop shop for all IT needs. They have PCs, laptops, desktops, workstations, servers, storage, everything available from one company. I think it is interesting to note that we do not know the right direction to follow as companies consolidate and then suddenly they break up into two companies. HP broke into two companies, IBM has sold off its PCs and servers. But today, Dell is the only one which is offering the entire range of solutions. In particular I would like to mention the new storage device that Dell offers is driven by Artificial Intelligence. Number one, the reliability has now reached 99.999% which means it will probably never break down because that .0001% is a very low probability and may not happen in our lifetime. Second, they have used an algorithm to compress the data and the normal drive in which you store data and the Dell drive using Artificial Intelligence, the factor is 4:1 which means that you can store four times more data on the drive itself.
IRIS has done some of the big orders like Kendriya Vidyalaya worth Rs 55 crores order with 8000 computers all over the country, Jharkhand and Bombay Airport, UP prison, KPMG, PepsiCo, all major spenders for IT.
Our goal is to be the most responsive distributor. We are open from nine o'clock in the morning to nine o'clock at night, seven days a week. We feel that it is a value add that we can bring to our partners. Second we carry inventory at all times we have more than Rs 100 crores of inventory. We are a young and vibrant organization.
We are growth and target oriented. We achieve our targets and we make our backends to keep surviving.
