Intex launches 4G VoLTE feature phone

Nearly 200 million 4G-enabled feature phones to be sold in India in next five years, triggering a slow-down for the domestic smartphone market. As per counterpoint research, "We estimate close to 60 million units of 4G-capable feature phones could ship this year globally from almost a million units last year, with India potentially contributing to almost half of that this year.

To meet the demand Intex (Make in India brand )launched, 4G VoLTE feature phone of Navratna phone series ‘Intex Turbo +4G’ . The series include one 4G VoLTE model and eight 2G models in a price tag of Rs 700-Rs 1500 and the phones . Intex said that it in talks with a few OS developers for the 4G feature phone, and will launch the device around Diwali this year.

Other smart features in this 4G VoLTE category includes 2.4-inch QVGA display and packs a 2000mAh battery. The device will be powered by a dual core processor with a 512MB RAM and 4GB ROM with 2MP rear camera and VGA selfie camera with an expandable memory of up to 32GB. Turbo Shine supports all 22 Indian languages and packs a 1400mAh battery, has wireless FM and expandable memory up to 32GB.

Ishita Bansal, Product Head - Mobiles, Intex Technologies said in a statement, we wanted to upgrade feature phone users and give them the taste of a smartphone through our first Smart Feature Phone – the Turbo+ 4G. With this, feature phone users will get high voice call quality, a seamless experience of the internet and the power of connecting with the world via a mobile.
