Instagram to soon introduce audio notes
Instagram is getting ready to introduce a new tool that will let users record audio notes, enhancing what it already offers. Adam Mosseri, the CEO of Instagram, made the announcement and emphasized the platform's efforts to make audio notes more prominent. Concise posts were possible with the 'Notes' feature that was introduced last year. In June, Instagram added 30-second music videos to "Notes," expanding the potential for creativity.
The original 'Notes' feature allowed users to compose concise posts, combining up to 60 characters of text and emojis. While no public testing of this feature has begun, Adam Mosseri highlighted Instagram's efforts to bring audio notes to the forefront of its offerings.
The platform also recently hinted at a new group mention function that is currently in testing. Users would be able to tag many people in a single-story mention with this functionality, making tales cleaner and less crowded as a result. This modification intends to improve the viewers' viewing experience.
The platform has made steps to create better safeguards for user privacy and experience. Recently, the platform added a function to block unauthorized direct message (DM) requests.
With these new limitations, users who are not followed by the recipient can only send one message at a time, reducing the number of DM requests that they get. In addition, since direct message invitations are now text-based, users can only send images, videos, or audio messages if the receiver accepts their offer to chat.
