Infosys organizes Ingenious 2018
Infosys has concluded the grand finale of the 11th edition of Ingenious, its pan-India annual business school competition that has been held at its headquarters in Bangalore. The competition has been open to first and final year students from top B-schools in India.
Following the phenomenal response to Ingenious over the last few years, Infosys enlarged the canvas and increased the number of participating colleges from 15 to 55 this year. Over 4,450 teams (13,353 students) from the top 55 business schools of India registered for this competition that was divided into four rounds. Following rigorous quizzing in the first two rounds, the top 30 shortlisted teams participated in an online case-study challenge where the participants were judged on unconventional interpretations and innovative approaches to problem-solving. Only five teams qualified for the grand finale.
The finalists were given hypothetical business themes related to potential problems in an era post-digital transformation.
Harsha Bhogle, a renowned cricket commentator and journalist, was the chief guest of the grand finale. He addressed the gathering and conducted a quiz for the audience. The winners of Ingenious 2018 were also announced and felicitated by him.
The teams that qualified for the grand finale were judged by a panel of senior executives from Infosys. The winning team was Monks. Inc. from the Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Tiruchirappalli. The members of the winning team were –

The runner-up team was Grey Matter from the Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development, Pune. The team also won the Popular Choice award for best business plan presentation. The winning team of Ingenious 2018 was given a cash prize of Rs.1,00,000 and the runner-up was awarded Rs.60,000. The final year students from the top two winning teams were also given an opportunity for a pre-placement interview (PPI) at Infosys.
